Editor Jim Reimann and his wife Pam

Although raised in a Christian home and neighborhood, my high school was predominantly Jewish. My first job was in a Jewish-owned business, and it was in a stockroom of that very business that I met the Jewish Messiah, who granted me eternal life. Perhaps this is why I’ve always had a heart for the Jewish people.

Leading tours to Israel at least twice annually for many years has given me increased opportunities to reach out to the Jewish community. It also has given me the opportunity to share with many Gentiles of their responsibility to take the gospel full circle—to take it back to the Jews. Yet many Christians don’t fully grasp that responsibility, or if they do, often they are not equipped to reach out to their Jewish friends. In many cases, neither do they know how to pray for them—that is, in a biblical way.

Devoted to Israel, however, is a wonderful, timely tool to remedy these situations. Murray Tilles is a dear friend, and it’s Murray’s heart for outreach—especially to his Jewish brethren—that so often challenges me to do more to reach the lost, whether in Israel or here at home.

As a Christian, and a devotional author myself, I know the importance of spending time alone with God and His Word. I believe Devoted to Israel will help you do that. In the process, not only will it focus your eyes on the Lord and the Jewish people, but also it will give you God’s perspective on His chosen ones. My prayer is that it will strengthen your heart to take the gospel back to those to whom we owe so much—the Jewish people. Remember—our Savior—our Messiah—is Jewish! May the Lord grant you His heart for the lost—especially His chosen people—as you read this book.

“My eyes will watch over them for their good, and I will bring them back to this land. I will build them up and not tear them down; I will plant them and not uproot them. I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the LORD. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart” (Jeremiah 24:6-7).
